Hi guys! Kee here! What a turbulent month we’ve had! Between my boss in a WFH capacity since the beginning of May which zapped all of my energy, to Nat enrolling in new business courses, boy has creativity been challenging!
Pride
We never got around to designing new Pride or Summer merch for this year and we are so sorry! I had two very special video game-themed projects drafted, and with time and finances being super tight, it never came to fruition. We totally hope to see it come to light if not during the second half of this year, in time for Pride 2025.
New Stickers and Bookmarks!
Nat and Rock produced some new products in time for Brooklyn Anime Fest. Despite the event not having much traffic, Nat’s new Guilty Gear Strive stickers got a lot of attention! Nat also found 5 new panels for bookmarks which are really fun additions. Rock created Persona 5 Security Threat stickers as well. None of these products were properly promoted prior to the con, so I was eager to see how they would all do.
Customer Discovery Survey
Nat also released a survey recently for an assignment and collected an amazing amount of responses. We learned what your pain points are, some desired merch designs, and some real feedback to look into when selling our own original products. We’ll be releasing a full video about the findings really soon.
What’s Next?
We’re currently looking at some ideas to change how some of our identity products are listed. We’ve noted that on multiple occasions, customers have asked to blend our LGBTQ Pin and Earring flags to express a more elaborate identity and sexuality. For instance, a customer asked for a pin set at Brooklyn Anime Fest consisting of a Bisexual Pin and a Genderfluild Pin. Instead of selling the sets in 2s, we’re trying to find a way to have customers build their own bundle of pins without the variant cap that Shopify currently has. More to come on this project.
Events
We only broke even at Brooklyn Anime Fest, which was expected for a brand new NY con that was sharing a weekend with two established events. We’re currently waitlisted for FlameCon 2024 in August (I think…) and we applied for our first DerpyCon 2024 in October. All events will be announced as we obtain them going forward.
